Toyota has tweaked its Corolla models for 2025, boosting mid-range models with more sustainable upholstery and some new personalisation options.
Offered on the Hatchback, Saloon and Touring Sports estate versions of the popular family car, the upgrade sees more eco-friendly interiors arrive alongside a new paint colour.
So, what’s new?
That largely depends on which version of the Corolla you choose. Opt for a GR Sport model, with its race-inspired design features, and all you’ll really notice is the addition of synthetic leather to the steering wheel and gear knob as Toyota aims to become more eco-friendly.
However, if you opt for a mid-range Luna Sport model, you get a more significant update with new upholstery that’s made from recycled fabrics of different colours, which Toyota claims will still feel “good to the touch” and is “suitably” hard-wearing.
Outside, meanwhile, the Luna Sport gets an extended selection of colours available, with a rich red paint colour called Metal Oxide joining the range. Although it’s offered exclusively with a black contrasting roof on Hatchback and Touring Sports models, it’s a single-tone finish on the Saloon.
Finally, Toyota has added some new 17-inch alloy wheels to the Luna Sport models, with a two-tone machined sliver/gloss black finish and star-shaped wheel cap ornamentation.
Anything else?
Not really, but then the Corolla didn’t need to change all that much. It’s one of Ireland’s best-selling cars, and the Toyota’s combination of quality, reliability and efficiency has all played its part in achieving that success.
As before, the 2025 model will be offered with a choice of two hybrid systems - a basic 1.8-litre option and a more powerful 2.0-litre version - and three body shapes, with customers getting a choice of trim levels. The new Hatchback and Touring Sports models have already gone into production at Toyota’s factory in the UK, while the Saloon variants will begin production in Turkey next month. Sales will commence from March.
