Heading over to Goodwood in 2012?

If you like the Goodwood motorsport events you'll want to read this.

The 2012 Goodwood Festival of Speed, the octane fuelled celebration of motoring culture, will take place in England from Friday June 29 to Sunday July 1, 2012 with a theme of 'Young Guns - Born to Win'. The event will celebrate the drivers and riders who over the years have announced themselves onto the world stage with performances that upset the established order. Foremost among these is current Formula 1 champion Sebastian Vettel, but competitors such as Bernd Rosemeyer, Valentino Rossi, Emerson Fittipaldi and Colin McRae all made an impact that was as immediate as it is indelible.

The Festival of Speed celebrations will actually begin on Thursday June 28 with the Moving Motor Show, an event that has become the de facto British Motor show since the demise of the official exhibition. It gives entrants the opportunity to get up close and personal with the very latest models and in some cases drive them on the same hillclimb track that forms the centrepiece of the Festival of Speed.

The Goodwood Revival, the time warp celebration of pre-1966 motoring, will take place the weekend of 14-16 September and to mark the 50th anniversary of the AC/Shelby Cobra the show will feature a grid made up exclusively of the Anglo-American sports car.

Entry to the Goodwood events are through advance tickets that are on sale now with prices ranging from £20 to £120 (about €24 to €143) for the Festival of Speed and £36 to £117 (€43 to €140) for the Goodwood Revival.
