Chrysler Ypsilon priced

Chrysler's new supermini to cost from €14,245 to €18,745.

The Ypsilon, the first ever supermini from American manufacturer Chrysler, has gone on sale in Ireland with prices ranging from €14,245 to €18,745. The new car is available in three trim levels - S, SE and Limited - with even the cheapest version offering remote central locking, electric front windows, six airbags and a rear spoiler as standard.

Mid-level SE specification adds air conditioning, electrically operated and heated door mirrors, front fog lamps with cornering illumination, a leather steering wheel and gear knob and Blue&Me connectivity, while range-topping Limited models gain leather trim, dual-zone climate control, electric rear windows, cruise control and 16-inch alloy wheels.

The Ypsilon is available with a choice of three engines - a 69hp 1.2-litre petrol, a 95hp 1.3-litre MultiJet II turbodiesel and the 85hp, 875cc, two-cylinder TwinAir unit. Each engine is aided by standard stop-start, a gear shift indicator and low rolling resistance tyres to achieve low fuel consumption and CO2 figures that put all Ypsilons in motor tax Band A.

Optional extras for the Ypsilon range include next-generation "Park Magic", ESP stability control (standard on TwinAir versions), two-tone metallic paint and the latest Blue&Me TomTom satellite navigation system with live traffic updates and a Google search function.
