Peugeot Ireland has released pricing and specification details for the 3008 HYbrid4 ahead of its launch in April. Prices for the world's first diesel-electric car will start at €36,995 (plus dealer related charges) for the 200hp, 99g/km model, rising to €38,695 for a higher specification 104g/km version.
Standard equipment on the entry-level 3008 HYbrid4 will include alarm and deadlocks, cruise control and speed limiter, dual-zone climate control, 16-inch alloys, automatic headlights and wipers, rear parking sensors, Bluetooth and USB connectivity. The more expensive model adds a two-screen video pack, rear sun blinds, a Head Up Display with Distance Alert, 17-inch alloys, satellite navigation, driver seat lumbar adjustment, electric folding mirrors and a folding front passenger seat to this specification.
"Peugeot has long paved the way in diesel engine development and HYbrid4 is at the fore of automotive technology," commented Des Cannon, Sales and Marketing Director at Peugeot Ireland. "We are very excited about the launch of the new car and are now taking pre-orders ahead of its launch in April."
The 3008 HYbrid4 is powered by a combination of a 163hp 2.0-litre HDi diesel engine that drives the front wheels and a 37hp electric motor that powers the rear. Drivers can choose between four driving modes - Automatic, All-electric Zero Emissions, Sport and 4WD - the latter two combining the powerplants to deliver the full 200hp and 420Nm of torque. Despite the performance on offer the crossover can return up to 3.8 litres/100km (74mpg) yet with a maximum CO2 output of 104g/km qualifies for Band A road tax of €160 whichever version you choose.
Quoted prices include the government rebate of €1,500 that applies to all hybrid vehicles sold until the end of 2012.
