Irish team to be at Bavaria City Race in Dublin

Irish motorsport team to bring 600hp GP2 cars with F1 pedigree to the streets of Dublin.

The line-up for the Bavaria City Race - a free public event that will see cars driven around a purpose-built track in Dublin City Centre on June 3 - has been bolstered by the announcement that Irish GP2 racing team Breezemount Motorsport will be in attendance.

Hillsborough based Breezemount Motorsport are one of the most successful motorsport teams in Ireland with current Formula 1 drivers Timo Glock and Bruno Senna having previously competed in the team's GP2 cars.  It is these 600hp 4.0-litre cars that will race around the streets of Dublin with team owner Philip Shields one of the confirmed drivers.

"The Breezemount team is very pleased to present our GP2 cars for live display at the Bavaria City Racing event in Dublin on the 3rd June," commented Breezemount Motorsport's Philip Shields.

"Our two GP2 cars come with some interesting history and winning form with chassis #023 being the car of F1 driver Timo Glock who contested and won his 2007 GP2 series championship.  Chassis #030 has fame with Ayrton Senna's nephew Bruno Senna, who made his F1 debut in 2011."

Commenting on the announcement, Linda McGarry, Marketing Director of Bavaria City Racing Dublin said, "We are delighted to have Breezemount Motorsport taking part in Bavaria City Racing Dublin.  There will be a host of international teams unveiled over the coming weeks and months but with Ireland's rich motorsport tradition it is also important that local teams are supported and included in what will be a showcase of world motorsport."
