Opel's new Meriva mini-MPV is now on sale and will cost from €19,995. Available in five derivatives from launch, buyers of the new Meriva have three petrol options - a 100hp 1.4-litre and 1.4 turbo with 120- or 140hp outputs - and two diesel alternatives: a 75hp 1.3-litre and 100hp 1.7 with automatic transmission. The car can be specified to three individual trim levels: S, SC or SE. The most distinctive aspect of the new Meriva is its rear-hinged back doors, a feature that sets the car apart from its rivals while adding to its practical family appeal.
S trim versions start at €19,995 and feature Opel's Flexspace (flexible) seating system, ESP, twin front airbags, front side impact airbags, an electric parking brake and CD player with mp3
connection. All engine choices are available in conjunction with this entry level trim with the exception of the 1.4 turbo 140hp.
SC trim versions start from €21,195 and add air conditioning, cruise control, steering wheel-mounted audio controls. The petrol 1.4 turbo 140hp engine can be matched to the SC trim.
SE trim adds a panoramic glass roof with sunshade, 16-inch alloy wheels, multi-function trip computer, electric rear windows and a leather steering wheel. It's priced from €22,695 with all five engine variants available.
