The Suzuki Regina concept, the car that so enamoured the CompleteCar.ie team when we saw it in Tokyo, is to be displayed at the upcoming Geneva Motor Show.
Now called the G70 Concept (although somebody evidently neglected to tell the art department) the exciting little Suzuki is said to "demonstrate the new vision for a compact car". Suzuki's vision of the future would appear to concentrate on lightweight, efficient cars as the G70 weighs in at just 730kg and thanks to an aerodynamic body has a drag coefficient ten per cent lower than any car Suzuki currently produces.
It's powered by an as yet unnamed 'highly efficient' petrol engine that Suzuki says can return 75mpg (3.8 litres/100km) and emit just 70g/km of CO2.
Suzuki will also showcase its latest development in hybrid technology with the Swift Range Extender. Originally shown at Geneva in 2010 the Swift uses a generator backed up by a 660cc three-cylinder petrol engine. Since the first outing Suzuki has continued to work on the prototype resulting in the battery driving range now stretching to 30 kilometres.
Both vehicles will be unveiled at the Suzuki press conference that takes place on March 6 at the Geneva Motor Show.
