With a name like Track'ster you would expect Kia's latest concept car to be either track derived or a roadster, but the Soul-based concept is neither. Set to be unveiled at the upcoming Chicago Auto Show, the Track'ster would appear to point towards a hot Soul variant sometime in the future.
With more than 102,000 examples sold in 2011 alone the Soul has been a big success Stateside and Kia is keen to expand its appeal. The Soul'ster convertible concept that was first show at Detroit in 2009 is currently in final assessment for production.
So while the official line is that there are no plans for the Track'ster to go on sale we would not be surprised to see it make it at some point in the future. The styling would certainly work and give Kia a genuine contender in the hot supermini sector, especially if it packs the envisioned 250hp petrol engine.
Just drop the silly name first Kia!
