Volvo Ireland launches clean autos in DRIVe cars

Volvo now offers Powershift automatic transmission option for some DRIVe models; with the same fuel consumption as the manual cars.

Choosing an automatic gearbox for your new car often means increased fuel consumption and CO2 emissions.  Versions of the Volvo S60, V60, V70 and S80 are now available with the Powershift dual-clutch automatic gearbox, but the good news is that the official fuel consumption and emissions figures for these models are identical to their manual transmission equivalents.

All variants produce less than 120g/km CO2, which puts them in the lowest band (A) for VRT and road tax.  The S60 uses 4.3 litres of fuel per 100 kilometres (65.7mpg) and has emissions of 114g/km.  For the larger cars the relevant figures are 4.5 litres/100km (62.8mpg) and 119g/km.

The automatic models can be pre-ordered now with production due to start mid-February.  Prices start at €34,764 for the S60 DRIVe, the V60 DRIVe is available from €36,797, the V70 DRIVe costs €40,654 and the S80 DRIVe €37,605.
