Nissan revealed its mildly facelifted 370Z coupé at the Chicago Auto Show this week (8 Feb, 2012) and when we say mild we mean mild. Only dyed-in the wool Z fans will spot the new wheels (18-inch as standard or 19-inch with the optional Sport Package), refreshed front end complete with LED daytime running lights, red rear reflectors and brake callipers. The range topping NISMO Z also gains an uprated Bose audio system though bizarrely it does without many of the exterior changes enjoyed by the standard coupé and roadster models.
As before the 370Z will be powered by a 3.7-litre V6 that produces 332hp in standard guise or 350hp when fitted under the bonnet of the NISMO Z. The boost in power is thanks to the fitment of an uprated exhaust system and a reprogrammed ECU. The NISMO model is only available with a six-speed manual transmission with a seven-speed automatic available as an option on both the coupé and roadster.
"Since the original 1970 Z was first introduced our goal has always been to keep the design moving forward," said Al Castignetti, vice president and general manager, Nissan Division, Nissan North America, Inc. "The changes for 2013, though subtle, go a long way in enhancing its dynamic appearance inside and out,"
