Toyota at the Geneva Show

A cheap-to-make concept city car will headline Toyota's display in Geneva.

Toyota has announced the highlights of its stand at the 2012 Geneva Motor Show. Making its world debut is the FT-Bh concept for an affordable, low-emissions city car. The production-ready Yaris Hybrid will be revealed and the GT 86 will make its first European appearance in showroom form.

The FT-Bh is a study for an ultra-lightweight, full hybrid city car. It is designed to be built economically so the design team stuck with conventional materials and production techniques, eschewing complex manufacturing processes and expensive alloys and composites.

Coming to Europe for the first time are the NS4 and FCV-R concepts. The former is a next-generation hybrid while the latter is a step towards building a production fuel cell vehicle by 2015.

The diji was first shown at Tokyo last year and features a body functioning as a digital display that can be personalised by the driver.

The Geneva Motor Show opens on 6th March.
