Renault has raided its ancestral heritage again for its latest limited edition model. Following the revival of the Raider and Gordini names is the Floride, a name not seen since the 1960s when it was the darling of A-listers such as Brigette Bardot.
The 2012 Floride comes in Renault Mégane Coupé-Cabriolet guise and carries the ivory metallic paintwork and red leather interior of the original car that wowed audiences when it was unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show in 1958.
Power will come from the same 110hp 1.5-litre dCi diesel engine as the standard CC, which is mated to a six-speed manual transmission. Specification includes a Bluetooth enabled radio, parking sensors and automatic wipers.
The Renault Mégane Coupé-Cabriolet Floride is a limited edition model and can be ordered from your local Renault Dealer. Price is available on request but is likely to come in north of the €32,400 commanded by the standard car.
