What is it?
One of the stars of the Tokyo Motor Show, the Mazda Takeri concept, makes the trip to Geneva for its European debut. More exciting however is the facts that if you strip away the wheels and fancy wing mirrors you end up with the next generation Mazda6 that we expect to see by year end.
Why's it here?
The latest interpretation of Mazda's KODO design language is not just about the good looks. SKYACTIV technologies have already featured in the CX-5 but with the Takeri set to morph into the Mazda6 they will move into the mainstream. The Takeri is powered by the latest SKYACTIV-D diesel engine and features the new i-ELOOP regenerative braking system.
Show stopper or floor filler?
We have seen the car already in Tokyo, but that does not stop the Takeri being absolutely stunning. When you factor in that this car, albeit with a few changes, will lose the concept tag and make it into production it is assured to draw a crowd.
