Skoda Citigo hits the Irish market

Czech version of the Volkswagen up! starts at €9,995 with automatic transmission for €750.

Skoda Ireland has today (July 9) launched its new Citigo small car. Based on the Volkswagen up! the Citigo is available to test drive now at Skoda dealerships nationwide priced from €9,995 for the entry level Active trim, rising to €11,895 for the range-topping Elegance.

The Citigo is available with either three or five doors and powered by a 1.0-litre three-cylinder petrol engine with outputs of either 60- or 75hp. A five-speed manual transmission is standard but for €750 the Citigo can be fitted with the five-speed ASG Automated Manual Gearbox. Fuel consumption of 4.5 litres/100km and Band A Road Tax (€160 per annum) mean the Citigo should be cheap to run.

"The Citigo will appeal to a wide range of motorists from the family looking for a viable second car to the more mature motorist seeking a small car with comfort and efficiency to the first time buyer who is looking for new car technology at an affordable price," commented Raymond Leddy, Head of Marketing for Skoda Ireland. "We are also forecasting demand with Ireland's lowest priced automatic car - the Citigo 1.0MPI 60bhp ASG from just €10,745."

An optional mobile navigation system is available for €349. The unit also provides Bluetooth hands free and mp3 play back functionality.

To mark the Citigo's introduction Skoda Ireland has created a finance option called PCP (Personal Contract Plan) Solutions. The package provides customers with a 1.99% APR over three years, which also includes three years' servicing, warranty and roadside assist from €99 per month.
