Lexus has announced it will unveil a new hybrid coupé concept at the Australian International Motor Show that takes place this October. Few official details have been released thus far but Lexus does say that 'The concept is a further development of a vehicle shown at the Detroit Auto Show earlier this year.' So that will be the striking LF-LC then.
Lexus describes the concept as a 'glimpse into the future of supercars and their use of advanced materials', but much more interestingly says that the all-wheel drive coupe's hybrid system develops over 370 kilowatts - or in excess of 500hp. Considering that the hand-built V10 engine that powers the LFA produces only 50hp more could the new car eventually morph into a replacement for Lexus' halo car?
Lexus Chief Executive, Tony Cramb, certainly seems to think so saying "The concept will highlight Lexus' design and engineering expertise - marrying design with function to deliver a glimpse into the future of supercars."
"The concept will highlight Lexus' design and engineering expertise - marrying design with function to deliver a glimpse into the future of supercars," he said.
Australian International Motor Show Event Director Russ Tyrie said that Lexus' commitment to display a world first is further reinforcement of the significance of the Australian International Motor Show.
"We are thrilled Lexus have chosen the Australian International Motor Show as the stage to unveil this new concept," said Mr Tyrie.
