Another collaboration from the Fiat stable, Alfa Romeo has unveiled two new MiTo models that draw their inspiration from the Eni FIM SBK Superbike World Championship. That name's certainly a mouthful - let's hope they use abbreviated badging.
Exterior
Both are said to be inspired by the Superbike series, but the MiTo Superbike Limited Edition is based entirely on the safety car used at the events. There are 18-inch rims, red Brembo callipers, SBK decals and contrasting roof and mirror colours. The Superbike series model is a little more subtle with 16-inch alloys, SBK decals, new bumpers, rear spoiler and titanium effect mirrors.
Interior
Sabelt seats and a numbered plaque (from a run of 200) feature in the Limited Edition model while the Superbike Series cars get SBK headrests (presumably embroidery rather than helmet shaped) and a carbon-look dashboard.
Mechanicals
While the Superbike series trim can be applied across the majority of the engine range, the Superbike Limited edition is based on the Cloverleaf model so offers 170hp through the front wheels. Apart from those brakes there's no mention of any chassis modifications.
Anything else?
Prefer your Alfas a little more traditional? Then the Giulietta Sportiva might fit the bill - it looks just like the Cloverleaf models but is simply a trim applied across other models in the range. There are 17-inch wheels, special upholstery, sports pedals, trim upgrades and of course Sportiva badging.
