Ordinarily, when an existing model receives a facelift it would be call a 'mid-life update' but the Lamborghini Gallardo has been around so long this one is almost an 'end-life update'; we can only hope. The evergreen Gallardo receives some Aventador-like styling updates and little else besides.
Exterior
Having sold over 13,000 examples since its launch in 2003 the Gallardo is the most successful Lamborghini model ever and the bosses in Sant'Agata have gone with the old adage of 'if it ain't broke don't fix it.' Updates are limited to styling with the LP560-4 gaining Aventador inspired tweaks.
A new, more angular, front bumper with expansive trapezoid air vents is joined by brake ducts that sit just in front of the wheelarches. Housed in the arches themselves are new 19-inch alloys with a diamond cut finish. A new 'Style Package' that sees the front spoiler, front and rear grilles and parts of the rear trim painted in gloss black paint is available as an option.
Interior
Changes to the Gallardo's interior are... erm... minimal to say the least but Lamborghini does point out that its Ad Personam personalisation package does allow buyers to tailor the interior to suit their needs so that is something...
Mechanicals
As the name suggests the Gallardo LP560-4 boasts 560hp and four-wheel drive so nothing has changed there either.
Anything else?
New be-spoilered versions of the LP 570-4 Superleggera and Spyder Performante models were also announced. Known as the Edizione Tecnica the new specification gets a new fixed rear wing, carbon ceramic brakes and a new look with three different colour combinations, one inspired by the Sesto Elemento concept.
