75 days of tweeting to come from Toyota

What better way for Toyota to celebrate its 75th anniversary than an onslaught of social media updates?

Toyota is marking 75 years as a motor manufacturer with a special display at its flagship Paris showroom and 75 days of posts on Twitter.

The company's origins go back to the mid 1930s, when Kiichiro Toyoda persuaded the Toyoda Automatic Loom Works to create an Automobile Department.  In 1937 the department became the Toyota Motor Company.  Since then the company has produced over 200 million vehicles.

Toyota's official 75th anniversary takes place on 3rd November.  A number of events will mark the occasion and share the company's history with the world.

In Paris the flagship showroom on the Champs-Élysées, Le Rendez-Vous Toyota, will showcase some of Toyota's most iconic models.  The 1958 Land Cruiser, 1967 S2000 and 1970 Toyota Celica are among the cars on show.  Additionally a collection of 1:43 scale models are on loan to Le Rendez-Vous Toyota including the first Toyota, the 'Model AA sedan' and the Toyota-powered F3 championship winning car driven by Ayrton Senna.

From 8th October the company history will be shared on Twitter.  For 75 days archive materials will be posted online at @toyota_europe under the hashtag #Toyota75.
