All the President's men... will drive Audis

Audi supplies fleet of A6s for Irish Presidency of EU.

On January 1 Ireland assumed the role of President of the Council of European Union (case of lunatics taking over the asylum?) and Audi Ireland announced a strategic partnership with the Department of Foreign Affairs to supply a fleet of Audi A6s to act as the official car of the Presidency.

The fleet will be on hand to transport ministers on hotel-to-airport runs at the eleven ministerial level meetings, which will take place throughout Ireland's six-month Presidency. The partnership follows similar European agreements, which have seen Audi act as the sole official supplier of transport for seven of the last 11 EU Presidencies throughout Europe.

"We are delighted to be partner for the upcoming EU Presidency as Ireland undertakes the role for the seventh time," commented Andrew Doyle, managing director of Audi Ireland.  "This term will be hugely important for the country and we are confident our world-class A6 saloons will deliver the necessary support during this term."
