Not long after Peugeot officially confirmed the 2008 crossover, rival Renault has responded with a teaser image of the forthcoming Captur.
Based on the same platform as the 2013 Clio the new car will make its public debut at the Geneva Motor Show in March, but further details are expected on Friday January 11 when Renault has invited the world's media to visit its site to 'discover a newcomer to the Renault range...'
Not a lot about the overall shape of the car can be ascertained from the single teaser image but the relationship between the front end of the Captur and the Clio is undeniable, leading us to believe that the crossover will resemble a taller version of the hatchback.
The engine line-up for the Captur is expected to mirror that of the recently launched Clio, meaning a 75hp 1.2-litre petrol unit, turbocharged three-cylinder TCe petrol offering 120hp and the venerable 90hp 1.5-litre dCi diesel.
