For most of us, driving on ice is a slow and careful activity where the act of pushing the pedal to the floor generally results in a lot of sliding, swearing and inevitably a crash.
This is not the case for Janne Laitinen though, as he has managed to break the world speed record for driving on ice. Thanks to tuning upgrades by experts at MTM, his modified Audi RS6 produces over 800hp and features a new aerodynamic body kit. Putting this power onto the ice required some specialist help from the guys at Nokian Tyres, too. Hakkapeliitta 8 studded tyres were therefore fitted to the car's upgraded alloys.
Over two runs Laitinen clocked up an average speed of 335.7km/h - beating the previous record by over 3km/h set in 2011.
The venue for the world record was the Gulf of Bothnia near Oulu, Finland. There, a 12-kilometre track was carved out of the ice for the world record event.
