Volkswagen has announced that production figures for its Scirocco model now stand at over one million units; and as such has released a limited edition to mark the occasion. The Scirocco Million features enhancements to both the inside and outside; but unfortunately it will only be available in Germany and China.
Exterior
The Scirocco Million will go on sale with an R-Line front bumper and side skirts as standard. Smoked rear lights and tinted rear windows keep things dark around the back, while 'Million' badges on the wings denote the special edition. Black is the only colour available; and we would imagine that the grey stripes running the length of the car pictured are also part of the package.
Interior
Black leather is in abundance inside the Scirocco Million; and it seems to be that wherever leather is found, contrasting orange stitching is holding it together. This colour combination can be found on the sports seats, flat-bottomed steering wheel and gear selector. Aluminium pedals and 'Million' branded kick plates are also standard fit items.
Mechanicals
No word has been given with regards to power or performance enhancements; so we'd expect the Scirocco Million to come with the same engines and underpinnings as the rest of the range.
Anything else?
The one million mark was achieved by strong sales of all three generations of Scirocco. Between 1971 and 1992, almost 800,000 first and second generation models were sold. Since its introduction less than five years ago in 2008 the latest generation has proved even more popular as over 200,000 units have already been purchased.
