Last ever Zonda to cost €2.2 million - plus tax

Track-only Pagani Zonda Revolucion to cost €2.2 million before taxes.

It seems Pagani can't stop saying 'one more time' when it comes to final versions of the Zonda. The latest variant is called the Revolucion and is a track-only model said to represent the ultimate evolution of the species. Horatio Pagani unveiled the new Zonda at Vanishing Point 2013 - The International Pagani Gathering. If you fancy one, expect to pay in the region of €2.2 million. Plus tax.

Exterior
A new aerodynamics package has been developed with deflectors at the front and a vertical stabilising fin on the engine cover. Also new is the Drag Reduction System (DRS), which has two modes of operation. A button on the steering wheel allows the driver to activate the DRS manually or switch it to automatic operation.

Interior
Pagani hasn't said anything about the interior, but it seems safe to assume that it will concentrate on the basics with bucket seats and a roll cage.

Mechanicals
Power from the 6.0-litre, naturally aspirated V12engine is now up to 800hp. Thanks to the carbon-titanium monocoque and lightweight features such as a magnesium gearbox casing a kerb weight of 1,070kg is quoted. The result is a power-to-weight ratio of 748hp per tonne. No performance figures are quoted but the Zonda R was claimed to manage 0-100km/h in 2.7 seconds with 50hp less. The transmission should present no barriers to extracting those performance figures as the six-speed sequential gearbox is said to need only 20 milliseconds to swap ratios.

Other technical highlights include a new Bosch traction control system with twelve settings and a revised anti-lock braking system (ABS). The brakes themselves are said to use 'cutting edge F1 technology'. As well as being 15% lighter than the discs previously employed, the CCMR discs are supposed to last four times longer and offer increased braking power.

Anything else?
Pagani describes the Zonda Revolucion as 'the ultimate experience for individuals who want to experience the thrill of an extreme track experience, in a safe and intuitive machine.'
