It's Cannonball time!

160 supercars set to tear up Irish roads in aid of LauraLynn.

If you are a lover of supercars and/or celebrities best get yourself down to Mondello Park this Friday for the start of Cannonball 2013. Lined up in the paddock will be over 150 cars from manufacturers such as Lamborghini, Ferrari, Aston Martin and McLaren, along with celeb entrants like chart topper, Bruno Mars, Boyzone's Shane Lynch (taking part in his fifth event) and the team of Roz Purcell, Nadia Forde, Kerri Nicole Blanc and Rachel Wallace in the Tan Organic Car.

Cannonball is the brainchild of AB Signs proprietor, Alan Bannon, and is now in its fifth year having already raised nearly a half a million euro for children's charities. This year's will raise money for LauraLynn, which supports children with life limiting conditions and their families by providing high quality transitional care, home support, respite, crisis and end-of-life care.

"Cannonball 5 is set to be one of the most spectacular events of 2013" said Don O' Neil of Manhattan Popcorn, main sponsor of Cannonball. "We are very proud to be part of this exhilarating event and to help raise funds for LauraLynn."

The Cannonball convoy will leave Kildare's Mondello Park at 12.30pm (or whenever race starter Ryan Tubridy raises the flag) en route to the Manor House Hotel in Abbeyleix for a lunch stop. The event will then move on to Midleton, Kenmare, Limerick and Cashel before finishing with the Cannonball Festival in Tullamore on Sunday.

Anything else?
Over 100,000 people are expected to line the route over the three days. More on that and all things Cannonball can be found on cannonball.ie.
