Count down to new Qashqai

Nissan teases new Qashqai, promises bolder design and new technologies.

The new Nissan Qashqai is less than ten days away and a teaser photo has been released. Detailed information is limited but the picture of the shrouded car shows off the prominent features of the new body. The unveiling will take place at 2pm on 7th November and can be seen on Nissan's web site. Judging by the photograph the styling is a lot more adventurous than the current model; with prominent wheel arches, sculpted sides, sharper headlamps and a prominent corporate grille. Nissan describes the new Qashqai as 'reinvented from the ground up'. A number of technologies are due to appear for the first time on a vehicle in this market segment and the cabin will feature a 'state of the art' infotainment system.

Anything else?
Comments by Nissan product planner Andy Palmer made to Autocar Magazine indicate that a warm, Nismo, version of the Qashqai is in the pipeline. This would use a 215hp engine with the goal of providing an enjoyable and involving drive at an affordable price.
