Hot on the heels of the GTI Roadster concept unveiling ahead of Wörthersee, Volkswagen reveals this, an Amarok with a very, very loud sound system. It's on display now at the massive Volkswagen-Audi event.
The one-off Amarok Power features a 5,000-watt, fully portable sound system that fits into the rear load area of the pick-up, meaning there's plenty of deck space for the DJ. It's also rocking (should that be 'Rokking?) some special features, like Dynamic Grey metallic paint, bi-Xenon headlights, chrome-plated twin tailpipes, massive 22-inch alloys in the same Gunmetal finish as the door mirrors and orange brake calipers and decals to further mark it out. As if you couldn't hear it.
Inside the two-man cab is black and orange Nappa leather, an Alcantara steering wheel, bucket seats with laser-etched fabric graphics and special carbon leather trim dotted around various areas. And in the back is an Allen & Heath Xone:92 sound system with Pioneer CDJ900NXS units for input devices.
Sound output is thanks to two Void Acoustics Impulse 3t speakers, with a VA Stasys Xair subwoofer ensuring clarity of sound at obscene decibels. There are also VA mycro 6-loudspeakers driven by MC2 amplifiers. All of this kit is designed to pack away in the Amarok in such a way that it perfectly fills the Volkswagen's rear bed, and it is said to be so easily portable that just one person can load/unload it as required.
Anything else?
The 2014 Wörthersee Show concludes on May 31, so you'll need to hurry if you want to see the Amarok Power and all the other wild Volkswagen Group cars that are on display.
