This weekend is set to be a big one for the town of Drogheda, as the Drogheda Motor Show kicks off on Friday evening (June 13) and will run until Sunday in line with the Irish Maritime Festival. Organised by the local motor industry, along with help and support from SIMI (Society of the Irish Motor Industry), Drogheda Chamber of Commerce and official sponsor First Citizen Finance.
The show will be held along the quay of the River Boyne and opens to the public on Friday evening. Over 50 new cars will be on display from Citroen, Ford, Kia, Mazda, Nissan, Opel, Skoda, Toyota and Volkswagen. The event will give the public an opportunity to see the latest new models away from the confines of a dealership and ahead of the 142 registration period.
Commenting ahead of the event, John Malone of Malone's Garage (Toyota) said, "Even if you're just considering a new car, we'd say to you to come down to the motor show. Meet the dealers, have a chat, learn more about the car that you want and get advice. Everyone is here to help you make the right decision. It's summertime, it's by the water, the cars smell and look great, come on down."
