Goodwood hillclimb won by Loeb

Loeb steers awesome 208 T16 Pikes Peak up course in just 44.6 seconds.

The awesome 208 T16 Pikes Peak hillclimb car has won the 2014 Goodwood Festival of Speed shootout in the hands of rally driver extraordinaire Sébastien Loeb.

It's not surprising that a car dedicated to scrambling up hills, piloted by arguably the most talented driver on the planet, won the event, posting a scorching time of 44.60 seconds - the sixth fastest sortie ever up the 1.87-kilometre course.

The next nearest vehicle to Loeb's all-conquering 208 this year was a Maserati MC12 'Goodwood Cent 100' driven by former GT1world champion Michael Bartels - it was 1.22 seconds behind Loeb.

Anything else?
The fastest ever car up the hillclimb course was a McLaren MP4/13 Formula One car driven by Nick Heidfeld in 1999, at just 41.6 seconds.
