Goodwood has revealed the theme of the 2015 Festival of Speed: 'Flat-out and Fearless: Racing on the Edge'. Provisional dates for the festival are 25-28 June with tickets on sale now. The event celebrates drivers and riders pushing themselves and their machines to the limit. No mention of the line-up as yet, but Goodwood always attracts plenty of famous names plus a wide selection of cars and motorbikes.
'Flat-out and Fearless' typifies some of the sport's most memorable drives; in 1957 Juan Manuel Fangio decided to drive "at 100 per cent for the only time in my life" to secure victory over the Ferraris in the German Grand Prix. Then there was the wheel-bumping final lap between Gilles Villeneuve's Ferrari and Rene Arnoux's Renault at the 1979 French Grand Prix.
Anything else?
The first day of the Festival, Thursday 25th June, is given over to the manufacturers to show off their latest models. Tickets for the Goodwood Revival on 11-13 September 2015 are also on sale and a limited number of tickets for the 73rd Members' Meeting on 21-22 March are still available.
