Not wanting to feel left out of the having-a-prototype-in-Gran-Turismo party, Subaru has revealed its VIZIV GT Vision Gran Turismo virtual car, which will be available to download through the massively popular driving game.
The creation uses some of the same design language that was used by Subaru in its 2014 VIZIV 2 Concept, and adds more dynamism by way of a large diffuser and a roof-integrated rear spoiler, which further exaggerates the shooting brake silhouette. Subaru says the overall weight is 1,380kg while power comes from a mix of battery-powered electric motors and a 2.0-litre 'boxer' petrol engine featuring direct injection and turbocharging to deliver a total system output of 589hp and 800Nm of torque.
Anything else?
Commenting on the (virtual) launch of the new car, Kazunori Yamauchi, President of Polyphony and creator of Gran Turismo, said, "Each time we release a new concept model I feel a real buzz of excitement, like a child with a new toy. Many people will be aware of Subaru's sporting heritage and so will be drawn to this stunning car. But equally, I imagine that it will also bring many new fans to Subaru through the game."
Players will be able to obtain the car for free by completing a lap of the new Subaru Seasonal Event in the game.
