Subaru has outlined two of its forthcoming motorsport entries for 2015 events. The first is a racing version of the WRX STI, scheduled to take part in the Nürburgring 24-Hour Race from May 14-17 this year. The STI NBR is said to be 'enhanced' from the previous Subaru entrants into this gruelling race, with aerodynamics, handling, body rigidity and power output all upgraded. It is also left-hand drive this year, which should allow the four-man team driving it to better see marshals' flags.
Meanwhile, back in Subaru's homeland, a BRZ GT300 will compete in the Super GT series. The car will be run by R&D Sport and features the same front-engine, rear-wheel drive layout as the road-going version, although it of course has a bit more power than the car it is based on (GT3 specification cars can run in GT300). Dunlop will supply the tyres for the BRZ's campaign in Japan, and the STI NBR will also run the same rubber.
Anything else?
This is the eighth year that Subaru Tecnica International has competed in the Nürburgring 24hr, with the 2014 VLN endurance champion Tim Schrick joining the Subaru team for 2015.
