New Morgan Threewheeler

Morgan will re-invent its iconic three-wheeled model.

Morgan is returning to its roots with the announcement of the Threewheeler.  The latest model picks up on the classic style of the V-twin, three-wheeled models of the Twenties and Thirties.

The originals used motorcycle engines and two-speed chain drive.  The new Threewheeler features Harley Davidson power and a Mazda five-speed gearbox.  Estimated power output from the 1.8-litre 'Screaming Eagle' V-twin is approximately 100hp, which is expected to give 0-100km/h in about five seconds and a 185km/h top speed.

Holding everything together is a tubular frame with rollover bars behind the driver and passenger.  Around the chassis is an aluminium body while the occupants get a leather-trimmed, 'aircraft-style' cockpit.

Morgan promises that its latest model will bring back the joy of driving in the vintage era.  It also claims that the Threewheeler has an unrivalled power-to-weight ratio for its price - which will be announced at a later stage.
