New image for Peugeot Partner compact van set for July arrival.

The Peugeot Partner van has been around in one form or another for more than 18 years, and now it's set to get a fresh new image. Set to arrive in July of this year, the new Partner will be available with three service packs from Peugeot's Connect Fleet Management.

Exterior

Peugeot has given the new Partner a front that is in keeping with the styling applied to its newer passenger cars like the 308 and 508. The front bumper now features new inserts, which as well as housing fog lamps and LED daytime running lights (depending on specification), can also be replaced easily in the event of a  minor collision thanks to their modular design.

Interior

In order to appeal to a variety of business users Peugeot will offer the Partner in two lengths (L1 and L2), both of which offer generous load volumes for the segment. The Partner L1 can take a load length of 1.80m, while the longer Partner L2 can accommodate a load length of 2.05m. Buyers choosing to opt for the Multiflex seat, which allows three people to sit up front, can enable a greater load length of 3.25m.

Thanks to its load width of 1.62m, and 1.23m between the rear wheel arches, the Partner is capable of carrying two Euro pallets. This task is made easier again by the provision of asymmetric side-hinged rear doors that open to 180 degrees. Depending on model payload, capacity will vary from 625- to 890kg.

In the case of the highest trim level, interior equipment includes a seven-inch colour touchscreen infotainment and telematic system as standard (this is an option on the mid-level trim), as well as Bluetooth, a USB port, auxiliary power socket and voice recognition.

Mechanicals

A number of standard safety systems will feature in the new Partner including ABS, ESP with traction control, Hill Start Assist and a tyre pressure monitoring system. Peugeot will also offer as an option its Active City Brake, designed to prevent slow speed accidents in urban environments. Buyers can also specify other aids such as front and rear parking sensors. Other standard items include cruise control and, more importantly, a speed limiter.

In total there will be six engines available when the new Partner launches, comprising of VTi petrol and BlueHDi diesel engines, all of which will be Euro6 compliant. Power outputs will vary between 75- and 120hp, while the 1.6-litre BlueHDi 100 features start-stop to further reduce fuel consumption and emissions.

Anything else?

Peugeot will have an all-electric version called the Partner Electric featuring a driving range of up to 170km between charges. The battery and electric drivetrain will also carry an eight-year or 100,000km warranty for added peace of mind.
