This slice of hip-high carbon beauty is the Glickenhaus SCG 003 - named for and financed by James Glickenhaus, an American billionaire with a passion for supercars.
Not content with personal projects (such as converting a sixties Lola T70 racer into a road car and getting Pininfarina to take a Ferrari Enzo and turn it into a thing of retro-sixties gorgeousness) he's now created his own car for other rich people to buy.
The SCG 003 is all-carbon and, in one version at any rate, uses a Honda racing V6 turbo with 530hp. Glickenhaus is encouraging owners to go racing with their cars, but if you want a road version and you ask nicely, he'll stick a turbocharged V12 in there too. Pretty exciting for a car that only weighs 1,300kg...
Better yet, Glickenhaus wants to blow even more of his money by, apparently, setting up a Le Mans LMP1 racing programme to take on the big boys of Audi, Toyota, Porsche and Nissan. God bless you Mr Glickenhaus - you're living the life we want...
