Jeep Renegade Hard Steel concept, previews connected technology for Jeep range.

FCA presented the Jeep Renegade Hard Steel concept at the Geneva Motor Show; designed by Jeep in collaboration with Mopar (the parts and accessories division of Chrysler) and the FCA Style Centre.

Based on the Jeep Renegade Trailhawk, the concept is designed to explore a possible range of accessories for Jeep's newest model and introduces the Uconnect system, which is coming in June.

Exterior

Changes from standard include jacked-up suspension, BF Goodrich All Terrain tyres, a front skid plate engraved with the 'Trailhawk' name and a tow bar to pull the distinctive trailer. For the bodywork Jeep chose brushed steel paint with matt black for details such as the roof bars, grille and 16-inch alloy wheels.

Interior

Reflecting the exterior colour the air vent frames, glove compartment and speakers are also painted brushed steel. The door panels are finished in light grey as is the stitching on the seats, including the Trailhawk logo on the headrests. For the upholstery Poltrona Frau Century lead-coloured leather was chosen; this is designed to be soft and warm to the touch with a worn and textured finish.

Anything else?

The trailer serves as a portable entertainment centre; with internet connectivity and a set of speakers. It acts as a Wi-Fi hotspot and a showcase for the Uconnect LIVE system. There is a touch screen interface to access music streaming, internet radio, social networking, news and traffic information. Uconnect will be available inside the production Renegade from June, with a 5- or 6.5-inch touch screen.
