One-off Thunderbolt styling piece for US show by former Aston designer Henrik Fisker.

Feast your eyes on this - it's a one-off restyled Aston Martin Vanquish called the Fisker Thunderbolt, so called because it was penned by Dane Henrik Fisker, the very man who styled the DB9 and V8 Vantage Astons (as well as the stunning BMW Z8).

Fisker has taken his pen to the Vanquish's elegant shape and tweaked the nose - it simply has a larger grille and a power bulge on the bonnet with triangular vents - while giving the rear more of a makeover. Here you'll find slim LED lights and a wraparound rear screen, with the whole effect making what is already a pretty car into something incredibly beautiful.

The Fisker Thunderbolt is also all carbon fibre, sits 15mm lower on some glorious 21-inch alloys, and has a leather-carbon fibre interior dominated by an 11.6-inch Curved Control Screen from Panasonic in the dash. How much is all this, you ask? Priceless - apparently, neither Aston nor Fisker have any plans to put this into production. That means its appearance at the 2015 Amelia Island Concours d'Elegance is likely to be the only time you see this beautiful machine in the wild. Shame.

Anything else?

You might be vaguely aware that Fisker's name once adorned his own car, the Fisker Karma plug-in hybrid, shown at the 2008 edition of the North American International Auto Show. However, Fisker the car company was bought out by Chinese concern Wanxiang in 2014 after going bust in late 2013, with the plug-in hybrid scheduled to be released in 2016 as the Elux Karma.
