Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles has today announced the introduction of a new special-edition Amarok model.
Sitting between Highline and Canyon in the line-up, the Atacama (named after the Atacama Desert in South America) the new model retails for €49,910 including VAT.
Powered by the 180hp version of the bi-turbo TDI engine, the Atacama features unique upholstery and alloy wheels and includes parking sensors and the "Light and Vision" pack, which features Bi-Xenon headlamps with separate LED daytime running lights, windshield wiper intermittent control with rain sensors and adjustable headlights.
The Atacama also sports black styling bars in the bed, with black steps along the flanks and a black cargo coating. Inside, the Atacama gets satellite navigation, Bluetooth, a multi-function steering wheel and a leather/chrome combo for the gearknob and hand brake lever. There is also a special Metallic Blue colour available for the Atacama - Horizon Blue Metallic (€860).
