New Sensu model for Mazda2

Pay €800 for €3,000 worth of equipment in the Mazda2.

Mazda has launched a new Sensu version of its 2 supermini that offers €3,000 of extra equipment for only €800 more than the entry-level Comfort model.

The Sensu costs €11,895 and comes with air conditioning, side and curtain airbags, electric heated door mirrors, steering wheel controls for the stereo, and 15in alloy wheels.

As with other Mazda2 models, the Sensu sits in CO2 Band B, with 129g/km of emissions, annual road tax costs of €154 and 5.2l/100km average economy.

Mazda has performed well in the B-segment with the 2 and has been increasing its market share. It hopes the Mazda2 Sensu will further improve the company's position in the Irish market, as more buyers look to smaller cars with lower running costs.

Sensu is a Japanese word that describes a folding fan used to create a breeze with practicality and style.

Mazda Motor Ireland's Sales Director, Michael Howe, said: "The combination of enhanced equipment, reliability, and low running costs makes the Mazda2 Sensu hard to overlook for those in the market for a small car."
