Skoda to show new versions of the Superb, Rapid and Octavia at Frankfurt.

Skoda has revealed details of its stand at the Frankfurt Motor Show, which opens on 15th September. The Superb with the Combi estate, SportLine and GreenLine appear together, making their motor show debuts. Other models on display include the Rapid Monte Carlo, Rapid Spaceback ScoutLine, Octavia RS 230 and Fabia R5 Combi.

The Superb Combi boasts an impressive load space of 1,950 litres with the rear seats folded. This is contained within a more stylish body. It will offer features such as hands-free tailgate opening, three-zone climate control and a smartphone compatible infotainment system.

Also new is the Superb SportLine, which is available in hatchback and estate bodies. Exterior features include lowered sports suspension, 18- or 19-inch alloy wheels and tinted windows from the B-pillar back. There are sports seats, steering wheel and gear lever plus aluminium-finish pedals and carbon trim elements. All engines, bar the entry-level petrol and diesel units, will be offered in SportLine form.

Economy champion of the range is the Superb GreenLine, again available in both body styles. A 1.6-litre TDI motor powers it; quoted fuel consumption is 3.7 litres/100km, which works out as 76.4mpg; CO2 emissions are 95g/km.

The latest additions to the Rapid range are the Monte Carlo and Spaceback ScoutLine. For the Monte Carlo, there are black finish grille frame, mirror casings, rear diffuser, spoiler and alloy wheels. It also comes with extra equipment and sports interior trim. The Spaceback ScoutLine comes with 16- or 17-inch wheels, black and silver spoilers plus black panelling around the sills and wheel arches.

Finally, the Octavia RS 230 is the fastest Octavia built to date. It has 230hp from a 2.0-litre engine, driving through a six-speed manual gearbox and the company's first use of an electronically controlled limited-slip differential. Performance figures quoted by Skoda are 0-100km/h in 6.7 seconds and a top speed limited to 249km/h.

Anything else?

The Fabia R5 Combi was first shown at the Volkswagen-related tuning show in Worthersee, Austria. With its striking green, white and black bodywork the rally-prepared estate car should attract plenty of attention.
