What's the news?
There's a new sporty range-topping trim for the Volvo XC90 in Ireland and it's called R-Design.
The specification adds 20-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels, silver door mirrors, a gloss black mesh front grille and tinted rear windows. Inside are some attractive leather and nubuck sports seats, a 12.3-inch active TFT driver's information display and a perforated leather steering wheel with paddle shifts. The passenger seat now gets electric adjustment and memory functions (as with the driver's seat), while there are also sports pedals, black headlining and improved interior lighting. Even the key fob is swaddled in R-Design leather.
All R-Design XC90s come with Drive Mode Settings and Adjustable Steering Force as standard, meaning - if you've got the optional air suspension fitted- parameters for ride, throttle response, steering and the gearbox can all be adjusted from within the car.
Anything else?
R-Design versions are available with the D4 FWD and D5 AWD Drive-E drivetrains, and in T8 Twin Engine petrol-electric hybrid form. Prices start at €67,950 and for more information you can visit www.volvocars.com/ie.
