What's the news?
Overfinch, the British tuning company best known for stuffing unlikely V8 engines into Range Rovers down through the years, is celebrating both its own 40th birthday and the production of the last Land Rover Defenders with a strictly limited special edition.
Only five special Overfinch Defenders will be made and they come with a small luxury hotel's worth of upgrades. While there are no insane V8 engines there is unique bodywork in the shape of an Overfinch grille, bonnet and badging. The fuel filler cap and the door handles are now made from machined aluminium. There are new bumpers and spot lamps and LED daytime running lights. The five Defenders also get specially designed alloy wheels (18-inch with a gloss black finish).
Inside there are Recaro seats, a DAB stereo, a screen for a reversing camera and everything is swathed in rich Bridge of Weir leather.
Overfinch Chairman, Kevin Sloane, said: "This special edition vehicle offers owners the chance to own a piece of exclusive Overfinch and Defender history.
"The Defender is arguably the world's most famous car and Overfinch is the global leader in Land Rover enhancements, so it is fitting that the original Land Rover marks our 40thanniversary.
"The five vehicles have been skilfully designed to represent the history of our 40 years and the Defender's heritage, while offering a contemporary feel with modern features tastefully and subtly integrated into the existing core of the car."
