What's the news?
Kia has announced that it will unveil a new concept car at the North American International Auto Show (NAIAS) in Detroit on 11th January. The large SUV concept was designed in Kia's Californian design studio and judging by the teaser image released at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas, could be a possible replacement for the Kia Mohave that was sold in Korea and the US. Currently the Kia Sorento is the largest SUV sold in that market.
We won't get to see it in full until its debut at NAIAS but the teaser image released would suggest that Kia is potentially eyeing up the more premium end of the large SUV market, where the likes of the new Volvo XC90 are gravitating towards. Kia states that the concept takes its design language "in a bold new direction".
According to Kia the new concept will also have advanced technology including what the company calls "state-of-the-art health-and-wellness technology", while a degree of semi-autonomous systems are also expected to be showcased.
