What's the news?
Kia is doing a lot of teasing of its forthcoming Niro Hybrid Utility Vehicle (HUV - Kia's initialisation, not ours) and now we're getting a clearer look at its styling in this pair of teaser images.
With the car designed by the company's centres in California, USA, and Hwaseong, South Korea, it's easy to spot that the Niro takes a lot of inspiration from the Sportage. It looks to be about the same size and even in these obscured pictures, the front end looks like the impending Mk4 Sportage while the rear is reminiscent of the outgoing Mk3 model.
The Niro will be the first car built on the Korean firm's dedicated eco-car platform, with the HUV set to achieve a sub-90g/km CO2 figure from its petrol-electric drivetrain.
Anything else?
The Niro HUV will be unveiled for the first time at the 2016 Chicago Auto Show in February.
