Aston Martin has expanded the Vantage range with the addition of the V8 Vantage S. It is described as a sharper, more driver-focused car with more power and a new, seven-speed transmission.
The 4.7-litre V8 develops 436hp at 7,300rpm and 490Nm at 5,000rpm. To keep the revs up there is a seven-speed, automated manual transmission as standard with lower overall ratios. Other mechanical changes include quicker steering, bigger brakes and different springs and dampers.
A new lower bumper helps identify the Aston Martin Vantage S and incorporates a larger air intake to cool the engine and brakes. The front splitter and extended rear spoiler are said to provide increased downforce. New sill extensions and rear bumper make the S look wider. There is also a new 19-inch 'V' spoke wheel design with ten-spoke forged alloy wheels available as an option.
The Vantage S is available as either a coupé or roadster and can be ordered now.
