More bright and fancy-finish colours for BMW i8 through Individual scheme.

What's the news?

Ever thought the colours offered for the BMW i8 plug-in hybrid electric (PHEV) supercar were a bit staid? Well, you might be pleased to know you can now clothe the PHEV's body in a variety of lurid new hues as part of the BMW Individual package.

Each of the new colours comes in a range of finishes, such as matte (Frozen Grey or Frozen Black), metallic and Xirallic, which uses a mixture of synthetic mica and aluminium flakes to give the coat of paint some real sparkle.

There are a few classically restrained-sounding BMW shades, such as Twilight Purple Pearl, San Marino Blue and Grigio Telesto Pearl, but even the least keen-eyed among you can't have failed to notice three of the new colours in the pictures. Pick from Solar Orange (nice), Java Green (really nice) or Speed Yellow (winner!) if you really want to make the i8 stand out even more than it already does.

Take a look at that searing yellow i8 and you'll also notice the wheels are different, which is another new addition to the Individual range: black-finish W-spoke alloys. We like the look of this BMW. A lot.

Anything else?

Richard Hudson, sales director for BMW, said: "The BMW i8 embodies the accomplished vision of a modern and sustainable sports car. The new paintwork colours not only complement the BMW i8s emotive styling and design, they also work harmoniously with the BMW i brand and provide customers with exclusive personalised options."
