Fiat Chrysler Automobiles Ireland appoints new MD

Paul Hunt announced as successor to Gerry Clarke.

What's the news?

Fiat Chrysler Automobiles Ireland has confirmed the appointment of Paul Hunt as its new Managing Director. He will take over from Gerry Clarke, who is retiring after 30 years of service, and will oversee the Group's activities in Ireland.

Commenting on his new role, Paul Hunt, said: "I am very much looking forward to this new challenge. Fiat Chrysler Automobiles is clearly growing and evolving, with some hugely popular and successful models already in its portfolio and planned for the future.  I am really looking forward to using those vehicles to help grow our market share in Ireland."

Mr Hunt's previous role was Head of Sales and Planning at Volkswagen Ireland Passenger Cars. Before that, he held positions in product planning, marketing and sales with Citroen Motors Ireland, Mazda Motors Ireland and Peugeot Motor Company UK. This experience should put him in good stead to develop the Fiat Chrysler Group's brands in Ireland. To date in 2016 both Alfa Romeo and Fiat have a market share of 0.02- and 0.43 per cent market share in Ireland according to the latest SIMI statistics.
