Kildare circuit will see the ‘Global Warfare’ round of the Irish Drift Championship.

What's the news?

A massive grid of drivers from more than 14 countries will slip and slide their way around Mondello Park race track this weekend as the 'Global Warfare' round of the Irish Drifting Championship (IDC) is not so much being held as it is breaking out. The international drifters will be competing as part of the 'Drift Allstars' world championship.

James Deane from County Cork will lead the Irish defence alongside ex-Boyzone band member Shane Lynch, current championship leader Duane McKeever, 16 year-old starlet Jack Shanahan and many more. The World Class opposition will come from as far away as South Africa, Australia, Lebanon and the UAE, armed with the best Drift Cars on the planet, some packing over 1,000 horsepower, as they attempt to end our undefeated streak.

Alongside the main event, Global Warfare will see Gymkhana Grid make its way to Ireland for the first time. Any driver with a suitable car and who thinks they have what it takes can enter this test of skill, speed and precision, with a paid trip to the final in Athens as the reward for the winner. The final will not only give one Irish driver the opportunity to compete on the international stage but also the chance to test themselves against Gymkhana legend Ken Block or Formula Drift driver Vaughn Gittin Jr.
