Honda Galway launches community competition

Honda initiative aims to raise profile of local community groups.

What's the news?

Honda is celebrating 30 years of selling cars in Ireland this year and to mark the occasion, a new competition has been announced by Motorpark Honda Galway. Entitled ''Honda - Powering Local Dreams'', the initiative aims to award recognition to the good work done by local groups, clubs and organisations in Galway, and boost the future growth of the victorious group by providing a €5,000 cash prize to the winning concern.

Any Galway-based group is eligible to enter, with a panel of three judges tasked with whittling the competitors down to three finalists. Each group is encouraged to detail their role and contribution to their local community as part of their entry, and how they would utilise the prize money. These finalists will then be profiled online, with public voting to decide the winner. Entries are open until the 29th of July, with the public voting taking place between 19th of August and 2nd of September.

Declan Kenny, Honda brand manager at Motorpark Group Galway said: "We are delighted to be the first stop in this innovative and very exciting community support initiative powered by Honda. Galway is a vibrant community that works together and there are so many stories to be told and hardworking groups, organisations and clubs that deserve recognition and support. Application forms are available online from today, so spread the word and let's celebrate the Galway community."
