The Celtic Tiger might not be fully back just yet, but the Irish motor industry is definitely showing encouraging signs of growth. On the strength of this, Audi has announced a new program aimed at drawing top apprentice talent to its dealer network. Entitled ''Audi Advanced Apprenticeship'', the scheme offers a ''fast-track'' route to full Audi certification in four years, instead of the typical seven, by tutoring the candidates in Audi brand training in concurrence with their workshop learning and college studies.
Thirty spaces are available, and to sweeten the deal the apprentices receive free workwear and Snap-On toolsets spread out over the four-year programme, along with a trip to Audi's homeland facility in Neuberg which includes the opportunity to drive the company's R8 supercar. The successful apprentices will also have the advantage of Audi's clear career path for future development, with numerous roles from service advisor to master technician attainable.
Steven Stein, Audi Ireland's Head of Aftersales had this to say on the new scheme: "The new Audi Advanced Apprenticeship scheme is a new and exciting way for aspiring mechanics to receive full Audi certification in a much shorter time, allowing apprentices to launch straight into their career with the right skills. We're calling on ambitious team players across Ireland to apply for the Audi Advanced Apprenticeship and avail of the best possible training, complete immersion in Ireland's number one premium car brand and full career development support."
