Renault's latest concept car, the Captur, is a sporty crossover featuring a flowing body design. It apparently marks a starting point of design ideas to come - in the footsteps of the two-seat DeZir concept car.
The Captur's body is finished in a shade of orange and fitted with 22-inch black and white rims. The most significant part is the front end. It features a large Renault logo against a dark surface extended to the sides for the badge to stand out as much as possible. LED indicators finish off the visuals, running the whole length of the wing in a wave effect.
The interior follows the exterior with the colour scheme and the lighting. The intended lightness is further improved by translucent materials used in various components.
The rear is a multifunctional area lined with three layers of 'rope'. It can be configured to be a storage area, a relaxation chamber or can be fitted with the installed pull-out seat, making it a four-seater.
A new, 1.6-litre twin-turbo dCi 160 engine will power the vehicle, producing 160hp and 380Nm of torque at 1,750rpm. It is paired with a dual-clutch EDC gearbox resulting in less than 99g CO2 emissions per kilometre.
The Captur is fitted with a mechanical self-locking differential and driving assistance is further improved by an 'augmented reality' visual system projected onto the windscreen.
